Before I get into the details of today’s outfit, I want to take a minute to sincerely THANK each and every one of you who has taken the time to check out my blog! We are constantly being bombarded with information and there is so much to filter through from various channels, so the few minutes it can take to read (or scroll through) a blog post alone can be a lot. Admittedly, I never really paid attention to anyone’s blog until I started my own. Now, I find myself actively seeking blogs out, since I can really appreciate all of hard work that goes on in the background to put together even a short post. So, to all of my readers: thank you, sincerely, from the bottom of my heart. And please keep your comments coming – they really encourage me to continue doing this!
Now, on to the goods. If there is one item of clothing I cannot live without (read: overwear), it would have to be a pair of blue jeans. I am a creature of habit, and distressed boyfriend jeans are totally my go-to on the weekend (I only wish I could get away with wearing them at the office!). I pair them with running shoes when I want to be casual (note: I never use the word “sporty” to describe myself because I really dislike that word, for some reason), and I can easily elevate my look by pairing them with a pair of heels.
I recently picked up this mint green sweater from COS on Bloor St. W. It departs from my usual colour scheme of blacks, greys, whites, creams and blues, but isn’t too loud or colourful at the same time. The salesperson who sold it to me called it “effortless layering”, since the pretty frilly shirt is built right in to the rib-knit sweater. I call it the perfect solution for lazy people, like me, because no thinking was necessary to create the additional detail and layer for my upper half. It’s also like 2 shirts in 1 – win!
I thought the muted green went really well with the neutral blue of my boyfriend jeans and camel colour of my shoes (also a recent purchase on sale, link here). And I guess I was feeling a little more risqué for this look, since I decided to throw my hair into a half top-knot, which I rocked a lot in the summertime, but have since scaled back on.
My glasses made an appearance too! Naturally, I look smarter with them on 😉
Let me know what you think of this look and my hairdo!
*Unfortunately, COS doesn’t currently ship to Canada. But, if you’re in Toronto or Montreal, you can visit one of their stores!
