We’ve been totally spoiled all winter with much warmer than average temperatures in Toronto. I really thought I’d be able to get away with not wearing my parka or even a pair of mittens at all this year! But when the weather suddenly takes a horrible turn for the worse, and Mother Nature decides to surprise you with -27 degrees Celsius weather and a snowstorm, you know it’s time to bring out the big winter wear guns!

But we’re Canadian; we were made ready for this, right?!

I’m a big proponent of supporting local. For today’s outfit, I’m being an ambassador for Canada and am wearing almost all Rudsak. Rudsak is a Montreal-based label known for its rugged yet sleek aesthetic. Most of Rudsak’s garments incorporate leather (or PU) and fur accents. It embodies “the spirit of cool rebel”; and it’s the perfect brand for winter because it keeps you warm, while allowing you to look stylish.

(Sidenote: One thing I do not like about Rudsak is that its online inventory and pricing can differ from its inventory and pricing in-store. Also, if you purchase from their online store, you aren’t able to return items in-store, which is a real negative. Hopefully that is a policy they consider changing in the future.)

I picked up this knit scarf, touque, and hand warmer set online here. I’m wearing them with a sweater from Zara that I’ve layered over a blouse from Oak + Fort, faux leather pants from Forever 21, and brown leather combat boots (also from Rudsak).
