Bench – Comfy, Casual

When it comes to fashion, you shouldn’t have to compromise comfort for style. As much as I love elevating a look with a pair of heels, I basically live in flats and runners on the weekend, and outside of the office, my style is, for the most part, quite minimal and relaxed. So, when I find clothes that are comfortable, stylish, and easy to throw on, I will put them on serious rotation! I recently had the opportunity to shop the Bench collection and it was such a revelation! Prior to then, I really only associated Bench with workout clothes, since all I seemed to see people in was their…

Shopping the GEOX Nebula Collection

My quest for the perfect suede running shoe is finally over! A couple weeks ago, I was invited to shop the new GEOX Nebula collection*, where I scored this pair of grey runners. I had been looking for suede running shoes for a while, but could never manage to find the right pair. So when the opportunity arose to shop GEOX, I was super excited! When it comes to runners, I tend to stick to the usual colours: white and black. So this time, I thought I’d go in a different direction and add some colour to my running shoe collection. GEOX Nebulas come in lots of colours and…

Feeling Festive

I follow a lot of other fashion bloggers for inspiration; and so, I couldn’t help but notice the absolute ONSLAUGHT of photos from Coachella on my Instagram feed for the past couple of weeks from high profile international bloggers and even some from Canada who made the trip to Indio, California. They all look so well put together in their free-flowing, boho chic festival attire, without even a single hair out of place (unless it was intentionally done that way to look effortless), all while posing in front of the iconic Coachella Ferris wheel. Case in point: But real talk: how many bloggers…

Think Pink

Let’s play a little game – it’s called the “Would you rather game”. Would you rather: have a short, but really cold winter OR a mild, but really long winter (or in our case, a winter that lingers into the spring)?! At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I’m essentially complaining about the current weather in Toronto yet again! When my Instagram hubby and I shot this look, it was below zero, and we had to keep on running back inside First Canadian Place every 10 minutes in order to warm our hands and feet up! I purchased…

Crazy for Culottes

I have a little confession to make… workwear is the part of my wardrobe that I basically neglect. I would go to the office in pyjamas, if I could. I like to be super comfy when I’m working (I even sit cross-legged on my chair); and although it’s attractive to see a woman in a power suit, let’s face it, business attire is uncomfortable. If someone can find me a blazer that doesn’t feel restrictive when I type, please let me know! I am normally very minimalist in my dressing, but I am even more so when dressing for the office. Generally, little thought goes into what I wear…

Toronto Fashion Week

So, it’s been a little while since my last blog post, but for good reason. Last week, in addition to what’s normally on my plate, I was juggling going to work full-time and attending Toronto Fashion Week (TFW)! Thankfully, I was able to keep up with my posts on Instagram, if you’ve been following along. But I wanted to ensure to devote an entire blog post to my TFW adventures when I had the opportunity! This one is going to be a long one, so get cozy before you start reading this 🙂 Although it was only my second time attending fashion week, this time around,…

Chasing Light

This blog post will be short – kind of like the amount of time Alex (my fiancé, photographer, and Instagram husband) and I had to shoot this look! I CONE-not begin to tell you how excited I am that it’s nearly Spring (pardon the bad ice cream pun)!!! (Birthday cake ice cream with whipped cream, strawberries, pineapple and waffle cone wedge from Dutch Dreams) Spring means that it’s finally ice cream weather. It also means no more snow, warmer days, and LONGER days! The clocks go ahead one hour this weekend, which does mean that we lose one hour of sleep on Saturday night, but we will actually…

Love for Lace-Ups

I’m selective about the trends I get on board with. When it comes to my shopping philosophy, I will more often splurge on the timeless pieces (as I view it as a much better investment of my money) and look for the cheaper options for trendy styles. Style is enduring, but fashion is ever-changing; and there is so much turn-around with inventory in stores that it is truly difficult (and expensive) to keep up with every trend. There are 2 current trends that I have to say I’m really NOT feeling, and I can’t wait till they’re on the decline: handbag pom poms (or “puffs”) and…

Effortless Layering

Before I get into the details of today’s outfit, I want to take a minute to sincerely THANK each and every one of you who has taken the time to check out my blog! We are constantly being bombarded with information and there is so much to filter through from various channels, so the few minutes it can take to read (or scroll through) a blog post alone can be a lot. Admittedly, I never really paid attention to anyone’s blog until I started my own. Now, I find myself actively seeking blogs out, since I can really appreciate all…

Leather & Layers

Continuing on the theme of our temperamental winter (see my last blog post here), we were all of a sudden hit with a flash of spring last weekend! But what a total tease, because as I sat here writing this blog post, we were being blasted with a terrible winter storm again! Even though the warm spell was brief, with temperatures rising to over 12 degrees, I jumped at the opportunity to swap out my combat boots for cage heels! I also decided to start playing around a bit more with layers to build contrast and texture into my outfits, since…
