Us with our Dyson Ball Animal 2

Fun fact: if Alex and I didn’t live together, I’d probably be a minimalist. Kinda hard to believe coming from a blogger, when it seems from my Instagram that I’m constantly receiving blogger mail. But, trust me when I tell you, I simply cannot stand clutter…and even worse, DUST! I make it a point to purge my closet quarterly, give away/donate products I receive that I don’t use, and there’s not a day that goes by where I’m not picking up at least one strand of hair from the ground somewhere. I am a neat freak, period.

Bless his heart, but prior to Alex moving in with me, the regular upkeep of my loft felt so much more manageable. Till then, I had been living on my own for close to 2 years and had become very accustomed to my way of doing things and the amount of mess I made (which was minimal, haha!). But the reality is, when you have more than one person living in a space, there will naturally be more stuff and a lot more dust (which is my mortal enemy), as a result! Needless to say, it was quite the adjustment when he moved in, since I had to learn how to share my space and get used to there being more to clean. At the same time, Alex had to adjust to how I liked to do things around the house.

We also had different eating habits. For example, I could snack on an entire bag of chips or popcorn and not leave one single crumb behind. Whereas, with this guy, it’s crumb city (like, allllll the time)! If it were up to him, we’d simply hire a cleaning lady to come in once a week. But I was staunchly opposed to that idea, because in my view, if we couldn’t handle cleaning 900 sq. ft. between the two of us, then we were certainly doomed for the future! So, since my broom alone wasn’t cutting it anymore, the compromise we landed on was investing in a good quality vacuum. And there really was only one clear choice: a Dyson.

Initially, we purchased the Dyson V6 cord-free vacuum, and we loved it. But we have since upgraded to a Dyson Ball Animal 2, and it’s been a game-changer!

The Dyson Ball Animal 2 has the strongest suction of any vacuum on the market. It has 270 airwatts suction power. We love the Dyson Ball technology and find that it manoeuvres so seamlessly around our loft. There is a detachable, instant-release wand that stretches up to 4.6 metres, so we can get to those hard to reach areas. The Dyson Ball Animal 2 can also hold a lot – with 1.8L of bin volume. But perhaps the biggest selling feature for us was the fact that we can vacuum the entire place in one go, without worrying about battery life!

I wish we knew before we got married how much easier our life would have become with the Dyson Ball Animal 2, because this is definitely something I would have added to our wedding registry. We simply can’t live without it, and I know we’ll find it to be indispensable when we move into our new home next April too.

I also know December is one of the most popular months of the year for couples to get engaged. So, newly engaged couples, if you’re reading this, do yourself the biggest favour and put the Dyson Animal Ball 2 on your wedding registry! I, personally, find this to be wayyyy more practical than China or crystal (which you probably won’t end up using, except for once in a blue moon). You will use your Dyson Animal Ball 2 all the time; and believe me when I tell you, it will help make you live happily ever after too!
