I feel like I just began this journey not too long ago, so it was especially a surprise to me when I learned that I had been featured by blogTO as one of the “15 Toronto food photographers to follow on Instagram” (a link to the full article can be found here)! While I’ve been Instagramming since 2013, I only really decided to “re-brand” myself to focus on food, fashion, and lifestyle about 3 months ago. Prior to changing my username from @just__krys to @dineandfash (like ‘dine and dash’) and beginning this focus, I had been posting pictures of my food and dining experiences here and there. However, I had certainly not dedicated my account to food photography as a major focus in the same way that I have now.

If you read my previous blog post (link here), you know that the biggest thing that held me back before was fear (of failure). Being featured couldn’t have come at a more significant time and has provided the much needed encouragement to continue going down this path. Where it will lead me, I have no clue!

BlogTO is Toronto’s most-visited website for local news and culture, best of lists, restaurant reviews and events. Whether you agree or disagree with some or all of the opinions of its contributors, it remains one of the most authoritative sources for local news and is a “go-to” site for information and recommendations of all kinds. Where’s the best brunch, ice cream, burger, coffee, you name it, in Toronto? Check blogTO!

I am so thankful to have even been considered, let alone featured! It’s truly an honour; and if you look at the quality of the Instagram accounts of the other people on the list, then you’ll understand what I mean.

I want to take a moment to shout out and congratulate the other people featured on the list, many of whom I have become friends with both online and offline: Rosemary (@rosemary.yng), Karen (@sincerelykn), Rey (@eatnmingle), Anna (@food.diva), Yuki (@pekopekolife), Fena (@cfooodie), Alex (@hypebelly), Isabelle (@allons.y), Jacky (@theeverydayfoodie), @wherejessate, @chewtoronto, Monica & Clara (@foodsisterhood), Alice (@meetandeats), and @tastebytes.

You gotta check out and follow their Instagram accounts. But I’ll warn you, your mouth is going to water! Thanks also to Jaclyn Skrobacky for putting the article together and for including my name on the list!
