Continuing on the theme of our temperamental winter (see my last blog post here), we were all of a sudden hit with a flash of spring last weekend! But what a total tease, because as I sat here writing this blog post, we were being blasted with a terrible winter storm again!
Even though the warm spell was brief, with temperatures rising to over 12 degrees, I jumped at the opportunity to swap out my combat boots for cage heels! I also decided to start playing around a bit more with layers to build contrast and texture into my outfits, since my style is normally very simple and minimal.
If you’ve been following along, you know that I love my street style! I’ve always really liked the look and idea of casual pants with killer heels, including sweatpants and heels (yes, sweatpants and heels!). There is a certain “je ne sais quoi” about the juxtaposition between the casual and the sophisticated and classy edginess that I totally dig, and that (sometimes, when I’m feeling cool enough) defines my own personal style.
For this look, I’ve tied a classic TNA denim shirt from Aritzia around a simple white tunic from Joe Fresh. I’ve paired them with faux leather joggers from Zara and black leather cage heels from Nine West. I also love a good shoulder robe with my trusty leather moto jacket from Massimo Dutti, and I’ve accessorized with my studded round fringe Rebecca Minkoff crossbody bag.
Let me know what you think of this look and how you dressed for our flash spring in February!
You are the prettiest! I love this post / your pictures in this one!!
Karen, you are too sweet!!! Thanks so much! You sure know how to make me feel good. Love you and your blog!

Thank you, Wynne! It wasn’t hard to have fun shooting this one, since the weather was nice. But, shooting in the cold on the other hand…

Thanks, Melisa! I thought the idea of leather sweatpants was genius when they first arrived on the fashion scene! Comfy and stylin’ at the same time – can’t go wrong with that!
Cheers! xo
