Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last little while, you’d already know that Nordstrom has made its way to Toronto. The Toronto Eaton Centre store officially opens today and the Yorkdale store opens on October 21st. With all the amazing activation events over the last few weeks, including jam vans, fitness and beauty events, and opening galas for both the Eaton Centre and Yorkdale locations, it’s pretty hard to not have noticed all of the fanfare!
Nordstrom’s also been working with influencers (including yours truly 😉 ) to spread the word. I attended the social meet-up on September 8th, where we got a sneak peek of the Eaton Centre store. Trust me when I tell you that it’s awesome. It even includes a private shopping room for ladies (where you can have complimentary wine and food with no minimum spend) and even a man cave—err—men’s club for the guys (which also features complimentary craft beer and food). The highlight of the Nordstrom events for me obviously was the opening gala for the Eaton Centre location on September 14th (I mean, the fitness event was cool, but my sore muscles weren’t impressed)! The gala had endless food, drinks, live music and entertainment, a runway show highlighting fall designer collections, and DJ Jazzy Jeff actually spun that night! Do you guys remember him from Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, or am I dating myself? More importantly, proceeds from the gala went to charities like Covenant House Toronto and Sickkids. If you guys follow me on Snapchat, you would have seen all of the amazingness!
Not surprisingly, it took me a while to settle on what I wanted to wear to the gala, including a near mini meltdown when a dress I ordered online arrived and was totally different than how it appeared in pictures and actually entirely neoprene (you know, swimsuit material)! Also, did you see the debaucle that happened with my hair from my snaps? In the end, I landed on this floral flowy dress from Zara because it’s not only classy, but also sexy. I love the cut-out details on this dress, and obviously anything that I can twirl around in!
On another note, you might have noticed I haven’t been posting OOTDs much lately. That’s because I’ve sadly been without a DSLR for more than 2 months now (initially my fault, but now totally Canon’s fault – long story). So, thankfully my friends, Didier and Adam, helped out by taking these photos. I hope to have a properly functioning camera back soon, so I can keep up with my fashion posts!
In the meantime, you can shop the look here:
Dress: Zara (purchase here, similar, similar, similar)
Shoes: Missguided (purchase here)
Clutch: HM x Balmain (sold out)
Are you guys excited for Nordstrom? Do you plan to shop there now that it’s open?
That dress is insane! I was surprised to see it’s from Zara, it could be designer. Great look!

You have both of my favs (minus one, lace)… Flora print and open back! You look stunning!
Thank you so much! The dress made me feel so beautiful/classy/sexy at the same time! xoxoxo
The print on that dress is stunning. I can’t believe it’s from Zara. Seems like this one was meant to be in the end 🙂 That clutch is unbelievable too!

Thank you, Cristina! There are such great finds at Zara! But I was actually surprised at how well this one worked out! The clutch is from Balmain x H&M and would you believe that I spent 13 hours in line at the Eaton Centre to get my hands on that collection?!
