The last 5 days have been a total and complete blur. Who else feels the same? From all the lazing around in sweats and binge TV watching to excessive eating, I’ve had to ask what day of the week and year it is on several occasions (thank goodness for our Google home!). The days in between Christmas and New Year’s are always kind of strange for me – especially since starting to blog. The best way to describe it is like being in limbo. I’m ‘on vacation’, yet not quite on vacation. Truthfully, as much as I’d love to give myself a real break until the new year, I just don’t feel that I can. I’d feel guilty—as if I’ve abandoned my work and content, which truly does give me pleasure to create. So, I did manage to get force myself out of the house a couple of times over the past 5 days to shoot some new content to share with you. Needless to say, with an extreme cold weather warning in effect in Toronto, shooting this look was more than enough to shake me out of my hibernation …right into a mild hypothermia!

I got this cute dress on sale from Shopbop. I did a huge haul on there a couple of times before the holidays and scored some major deals (I figured, with all the gift buying for everyone else, I may as well treat myself too!). If you’ve never heard of Shopbop before, it’s part of the Amazon group of companies and my most reliable website for quality, authentic designer clothes. Almost all of the dresses I wore and my Marysia Swim bikini that you guys really loved every time I posted from my last trip to the Mayan Riviera were from Shopbop (see examples A, B, C, D, and E). There are frequent sales happening on the website (like up to 75% off for Boxing Day); and even if there aren’t any sale events, I always check the sale items. For those of you who know about or shop regularly on Shopbop, you’ll know how big of a deal the sale events are!

This LBD is perfect for New Year’s Eve. It’s a mix of poplin and tonal lace, and I just love the silhouette and bell sleeves. Plus, the elastic waist band doesn’t hurt after all the holiday eating, haha! I paired with black sock boots – because I think the boots complement the dress really well (and I also wasn’t about to put on heels or open-toe sandals in this cold weather either!).
