Hey friends! It was about time that I posted an OOTD, as it’s been a while! For today’s outfit, I’m featuring something old and something new…but nothing borrowed or blue (we’ll save those for the wedding day 😉 ).

Of course, I’m excited to talk about what’s new on me (there are actually 2 things). But, I think it’s equally as important to draw your attention to what’s old: this Balmain x H&M jacket that I picked up in November of 2015, which I still swoon over. The quick backstory on this jacket is that I waited in line at the Eaton Centre for more than 13 hours to be one of the first people to shop the Balmain x H&M collection and get my hands on it (along with a number of other items, but we don’t need to go there). I mentioned in a previous blog post that this was one of the things that pushed me to start blogging in the first place. In retrospect, I probably wouldn’t pull an all-nighter in a mall ever again. But this jacket was worth the wait! Not gonna lie, though, there have been long stretches where it’s collected dust in my closet, while I’ve played favourites with newer pieces.

I watched Minimalism: A Documentary About the Important Things a few weeks ago and it really resonated with me. If you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend! I do believe a minimalist lifestyle with less things would lead to a happier life. But, I really don’t think that’s a lifestyle I could practically adopt at this stage. There’s just something about minimalism and fashion blogging that don’t go together, ya know?! I do constantly feel the pressure to buy new clothes and handbags. But I’ve decided to make it a point to repurpose my older pieces and style at least one in my OOTDs, rather than showing you guys new everything all the time. And when you style an old item with new items or in a new way, it’s like a whole new outfit anyway! Hence, this jacket and look.

As for the new in my outfit, I recently picked up this Moschino crossbody bag that I’d been eyeing for a while and these black Paige jeans. Okay, Jeremy Scott totally gets me because I love Moschino so much! The slightly ‘out there’, bold, fun designs really speak to me. I like a bit of panache in my outfits, so this bag is going to be the perfect accessory! You also can’t ever go wrong with a pair of classic black jeans. The raw hem is a trend that I’m all over, and the fit and feel of Paige denim is unparalleled!

Jacket: Balmain x H&M (old), similar; Top: Aritzia; Jeans: Paige; Shoes: Sam Edelman; Bag: Moschino
